Bringin’ it to Austin
{ April 1st, 2008 }
Need a place to pimp your idea? Or maybe you just want to meet other chronic drinkers with a startup problem?
Join us this weekend at the San José Hotel on South Congress for the inaugural Startup Drinks Austin meet-up. Another Andrew Hyde production (Startup Weekend, VC Wear)—Andrew will be in attendance to help us kick off the meme for the Austin area.
Facebook Invite - Feel free to blast this invite out to anyone you think might be interested, tweet it up and hope to see y’all there!

A simple concept: startup culture in cities around the world gathers around a bar to have a pint and discuss what they are working on, what they need help with and what they can do for each other.

If you just can’t wait until Sunday, try driving over to Houston where we are having our monthly Houston Startup Happy Hour at the The Tasting Room on Thursday, April 3rd, starting at 6pm.
The April Houston Startup Happy Hour features a completely new format including a live presentation of JamsBio.com launched publicly this week by Mouth Watering Media LLC. JamsBio is a new and unique website created by and for music lovers to exchange memories about life experiences and the music associated with them. There will also be an open mic opportunity for all startups to share recent announcements with the rest of Houston’s startup community.
Here is your chance to meet Houston’s growing network of emerging startups, entreprenuers, investors, and technology enthusiasts to share drinks, tips and beta invites. Swap business cards and war stories and learn something new about Houston’s Tech Scene!

Bryan, we’re not trying to compete with you man. I’m totally going to your happy hour on the 17th, and I’m stoked about it.
We’re not looking to make a this a 300 person event - just a community for people who are actively working on startups. No recruiters, no fulltimers - startup people.

I would have gone, had I not been in New York.
Hard to keep out the recruiters, but some people come to get recruited.
I’ll try to make the next one, and bring my list of 10 startup ideas with me. It’s a curse.
